2007 Pilgrimage Completed

Our First Group of PilgrimsEmmanuel School of Religion’s Institute for Excellence in Ministry was pleased to sponsor "Renewing God’s Call: A Pastoral Pilgrimage to the Holy Land" in 2007. This pastoral renewal experience was funded and made possible due to a generous grant to Emmanuel School of Religion from the CF Foundation, Inc.

The program allowed twenty mid-career pastors to participate in a two-week pilgrimage to the Holy Land in February 2007, visiting sites in Galilee (six days) and Jerusalem (seven days) in the mornings, then focusing on rest, reflection on our pastoral call, and renewal in the afternoons.

TabghaThe Pilgrims who were selected for the February 2007 trip enjoyed a Pre-Pilgrimage Retreat in January 2007 at Roan Mountain State Park in lovely Eastern Tennessee. After the Pilgrimage concluded, the group convened for a Post-Pilgrimage Retreat in March.

The participants from the first pilgrimage have had many opportunities to maintain strong ties of friendship and report that the pilgrimage has brought wonderful benefits and graces to their ministries and lives. Beth-Jonesborough, TNJim-Weaverville, NC
